Berlin is the melting pot of German and European history. Prussian discipline, the brutal goings-on of the Nazis, the Cold War between East and West and modern parliamentary democracy – a varied cycle tour to the original sites.

Exploring the authentic and gritty Berlin
From its squatter past to its multicultural present, no Berlin district is as famous as Kreuzberg. It was in this quarter of West Berlin that an infamous squatter culture existed, and where a left wing counter-cultural world was created in the dilapidated tenements that stood in the shadow of the Wall. Today, this melting pot of old activists, a young and vibrant party crowd, and Turkish families with deep roots in the neighbourhood, are struggling to maintain the identity of their community in the face of more and more expensive multinational developments that are changing Berlin fundamentally.
On our way to Kreuzberg, we will show you the old East Berlin neighbourhoods of Prenzlauer Berg and Friedrichshain, where we will witness the traces of life behind the Berlin Wall.

We select the routes of our tours carefully, and our guides receive specialist training in managing bike tours. We favour routes that lead away from the busy main roads of the city, and try wherever possible to stick to quiet streets and cycle paths, for maximum safety and enjoyment.
50% of Berlin households do not own a car, and travelling by bike or public transport is the norm here, which means that car drivers are used to cyclists.
The luminous orange vests worn by our bike guides and a volunteer at the back of the bike tour make us easy to spot on the roads. In Berlin it is possible to enjoy a safe and relaxed bike tour, including with children.

All Berlin on Bike public bike tours start at the Kulturbrauerei (means “Culture Brewery”) in the Prenzlauer Berg district. The brewery grounds have several entrances, the best way to get to us is through the archway at Knaackstraße 97. From the underground station Eberswalder Straße (underground line 2, three stops north of Alexanderplatz) it’s a 200-metre walk.
For private tours with your own bikes, the start can be arranged individually. Delivery of our bikes for your private bike tour is also possible for an additional charge – but this is usually only worthwhile for larger groups.
On average our group bike tours consist of between eight and twelve participants. On our regular bike tours, fifteen people per group is our maximum. If there are more registrations, we provide more guides, to ensure that groups remain manageable in size, for the sake of safety and for the enjoyment of our guests.
A minimum of four guests is required for a bike tour to run.
In the case of private bike tours, we recommend that groups do not exceed fifteen guests at a time. Larger groups will be divided up, with more guides allocated to the tour.
