Athens Street Art Gallery Pt. 2
As some of you might know from an earlier blog post, we already discovered that Athens is a mekka for lovers of street art. So, when one of our team members visited Athens, apart from going on a bike tour with our lovely colleagues from Athens by Bike, which we will write about later, we also had to go on the hunt for the best graffiti and murals again. As Sascha already noted the sheer amount but also the quality of street art in Athens is incredible. In some neighbourhoods like Exarchia, Metaxourgeio or Psirri you can find an amazing piece on every corner. Best proof: we only saw one piece that was already included in our first street art gallery from Athens.
Also, the contrast between these a bit run-down but lively neighbourhoods and the imposing monuments of Ancient Greece that are spread around all the inner city is quite strange and wonderful.
So, here is our latest street art gallery from Athens. I tried to find the artists if possible.

The owl is a popular motive in Athens that you can also find on a lot of souvenirs. The owl stands for the Greek goddess Athene that gave the city its name.

With so much street art everywhere it’s no surprise we ran into some artists in action.
Such a colorful octopus
You can find these cleverly painted columns in the neighbourhood Exarchia that also has a ton of alternative bars and cafés.
